The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports for Brunei Darussalam, Pehin Hazair, visited Wales on the 9th and 10th December as part of a wider visit to the UK.

Pehin Hazair met the Minister for Housing, Regeneration & Heritage, Huw Lewis AM, to discuss Wales’ experience in hosting major sporting events such as Ryder Cup and the success in attracting Olympic and Paralympic teams to use Wales as a training base ahead of the London 2012 Games. The Ministers also discussed the Welsh Government’s commitment to encourage wider participation in sport.

After the meeting Minister Hazair took the opportunity to tour the sports facilities of Cardiff Metropolitan University and visit the Cardiff School of Management. There was also time to meet students from the Brunei Darussalam Student Society Wales (BDSSW).
