Wales take on Fiji this Sunday in New Zealand in their last game of the
Rugby World Cup group stages. The
Welsh rugby squad have put in some strong performances so far and are hoping for a place in the quarter-final.
But Wales will have something to prove this weekend after losing to Fiji, 38-34, in the 2007 World Cup, eliminating them in the final game of the group stages.
In football
Swansea continue their Premier League journey as they take on Stoke City at their home ground- the Liberty Stadium, while
Cardiff City play away this Saturday against Hull in the Championship.
Wales has also been visited by a US Olympic swimming champion, Rebecca Soni, this month as part of Team USA’s campaign to explore Britain prior to the
2012 Olympics. Rebecca visited the Millennium Stadium (which will host 11 football matches as part of the 2012 Olympics), tried her hand at coasteering, enjoyed a traditional Welsh breakfast and explored the breathtaking Pembrokeshire Coastal Path.
Rebecca said,
"The lasting impression I’ll take home from Wales: Sometimes you see pictures of a place before you visit, and it turns out to be not quite as impressive… this trip was the opposite. Wales was so much more than I expected and is a place that must be experienced firsthand!"
You can find out more about Rebecca Soni’s many other adventures during her trip to Wales by reading her
blog.
