Wales the True Taste Food and Drink Awards

Our food here in Wales is definitely something to celebrate. Tomorrow we’ll do just that at the Wales the True Taste Food and Drink Awards.

As one of the most anticipated events in the Wales food calendar, the Awards were created to highlight excellence in Welsh food, drink and hospitality and to raise the profile of Welsh food and drink throughout Wales and beyond.

As a country, we pride ourselves on supplying some of the finest produce in the world. The 1,017 competition entries from 366 companies, large and small, across Wales just goes to show how proud we are of our great ingredients.

The shortlisted finalists will be independently judged in 16 different categories.

Wales’ very own ‘food Oscars’ also celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. The awards ceremony takes place at Venue Cymru in Llandudno tomorrow (20th October) where the category winners will be revealed.

The prestigious (and we imagine, delicious) awards dinner will be prepared by the in-house team at Venue Cymru headed by executive chef, Rob Lawton.

This year’s awards also coincide with the annual North Wales celebration of food and drink – Gwledd Conwy Feast (October 22nd & 23rd).

Held in the ancient town of Conwy, the Feast features a variety of activities and exhibitions including a True Taste Winners Food Hall.
