Hi from sunny Sarasota..so glad to find this site..another way we 'welsh' and 'near welsh' can stay in touch. The Pittsburgh FESTIVAL OF WALES was wonderful...we frequently see Red Dragons lolling about on Siesta Beach here in Sarasota!..our local (sarasotawelsh.com) members feed them welsh cakes!

My big Welsh dragon came to me
and told me of this site you see
He said to see it is a must
and off he flew in a cloud of dust
I grabbed his tail and hung on tight
and off we set right through the night
and now we`ve seen it,this fact we face
this site is truly,well,just ace!

Dear Lucy,
Thank you for your kind response. I am busy steeping myself in Welsh history and am enjoying this beginning to my adventure. I continue to research options for finding individuals to know before I leave for Wales next year, and in the meantime am enjoying the wonderful resource base available through this web site. My best to you.

Dear Rob,
Thank you for your email. If you are wishing to trace family and friends in Wales then www.homecomingwales.com is a good place to start for tips and information on how to trace your Welsh roots.
You may also wish to visit www.homedinnersinwales.com who can be put in touch with people in Wales to enjoy a home-cooked meal while talking about the way of life in Wales and exchange views as well as experiences with local cultures.
I hope you have an enjoyable stay in Wales.

Hi. An older gentleman - over 50 - I plan to visit Wales, the home of my mother's family line, for an extended visit. How might I find folks, lasies or gentlemen, who might be willing to strike up an aquantance via email before my planned adventure next year? Thanks much. My family is from Kidwelly

Hi Carl,
Yes this is the first time that Wales will host an Ashes test match so we are pretty excited about it. The match is taking place on the 8-12 July at Cardiff's Swalec stadium.

Hi Kath,
Our weather tends to be mild and variable and we enjoy long summer days in June, July and August. The southwest costal strip of Wales gets around 1,700 hours of sunshine each year. Our average temperature for June is 66 degrees Fahrenheit and in August is 70 degrees Fahrenheit.
